Mrs Mary Tabu, Ofua 3
The trainings on peace building organised by apino had helped me to interact with different people from other settlement and created good relationship hence promoting peace among ourselves the south Sudanese communities and the host. The music concerts have helped me in trauma healing and keeping my culture because the peace songs were sang in a language I understand. In conclusion, I ask APINO to continue with the peace building activities to help us in trauma healing.
Mr Juma in Ofua 3.
When I came to the refugee camp in 2016, I was indeed traumatized, life was different and difficult. I would like to thank APINO and their partners for the work they have been doing in the community. First APINO helped to pay unaccompanied children in school in Ofua 3, Apino also helped women groups with training in small business skills and start-up capital which helped some families to change diets. The trainings and workshops on peace building organised by apino brought together different tribes of south Sudanese refugee’s communities such as Dinka community, Nuer community and us the Equatorians which created peace among ourselves and myself in particular. The music concerts brought all of us together whether youth and old women and men, it helped us to forget our problems, it created peace among us. In the past, I have never stood before people however, after the workshop supported by Oxfam and implemented by APINO, I can now stand and talk on issues affecting our communities as refugees. In conclusion, I ask Oxfam and other partners to continue in supporting APINO so that trainings can be organised for those who did not attend the previous ones such that they can benefit like me.
